| Optical Quality
Optical quality defines the general appearance of the glass,
and depends on:
- Distortions due to shape deviations, edge curvature, edge
straightness, roll waves
- Iridescence
- Central area haze
- Surface defects and burnings on coating
Flatness
Some deviations are always present in tempered glass
There are 3 different kind of bow:
- Overall or general bow
- Local bow (Roll wave)
- Edge curvature
- Flatness Tolerance
Lower Energy Consumption
- Heating efficiency about 92 % of the theoretical energy
consumption for heating, tempering and cooling of the glass
- Fast heating of furnace
- Quick heating of glass, 28 sec/mm glass thickness
- Compact, well insulated design
- Lower furnace temperature
- The warm air is re-circulated in the furnace
- The design of the chiller nozzles is verified through computer
simulation, thus optimising the correct tempering air pressure
Low Maintenance Costs
- Standard, easy available components
- Maintenance free components ( e.g. pre-lubricated drives,
maintenance free timing belt drive)
- The ceramic rollers can be easily removed for maintenance
- The heating elements are designed for long life, and this
further enhanced by the circulating convection air
- The heating elements are easy to remove without cooling
the furnace
