| MultiConvection™
- RoboTemp™ flat tempering line is a so called true
convection furnace, i.e. the glass is mainly heated up by
blowing hot air in the upper and lower surface.
- The heating elements are closed inside the nozzles. The
direct radiation is fully eliminated.
- 75% of the heat transfer to the glass is through forced
convection (according to computer simulations)
The convection heating nozzle design is checked with computer
simulation and this shows that we can eliminate the cold areas,
thus minimising the iridescence
- The furnace temperature is constantly maintained at approx.
680°C
- The system is controlled by FuzzyTemp™ control system,
that automatically adjusts the heating profile
Options
- 3 mm Quench Unit
- Frequency inverter control for blowers
- Noise reduction cabin for quench section
Furnace Temperature
The furnace temperature is constantly maintained at approx.
680 °C. This offers the following advantages:
- Same temperature is used for processing all glass types
and thickness; no waiting time needed to adjust the furnace
for each production mix (1-2 loadings usually needed when
thickness or glass type is being changed in a radiant furnace)
-> less down time, more capacity 5-25%).
- Roller bed is not as hot as with radiant furnace; the glass
bend less at the entrance in the furnace -> much better
optical quality.
- Reduce the risk of burnings on coating.
- Lower energy consumption.
